Something really huge happened for my husband recently.

 

A little over two years ago he came across a motorcycle accident and helped stabilize an injured motorcyclist until the paramedics showed up.

We had no clue how much this would impact our lives.

A few months after the accident, Dameon told me that he had been checking up on the motorcyclist on Facebook and saw he had proposed to his long time girlfriend.

I literally had the biggest feeling that I had to reach out.

I just had to.

I offered to shoot their wedding.

As my gift to them.

They had been through so much, it was legit the least I could do.

Their wedding was so emotional.

Bryan was still in a wheelchair, waiting on his leg prosthesis.

He had his hand and arm in a cast, still awaiting many surgeries.

You know what? He was the happiest man I had ever met.

The way he looked at his bride April was my favorite.

It was so sweet and one of the biggest and most special moments of my career.

The first police officer on the scene reached out to Dameon’s boss and told him all about the accident.

Apparently “raved about how amazing Dameon was.”

Dameon is so humble and was legit so embarrassed.

He hates getting a bunch of attention and this was a lot of attention.

His command team submitted his story for a Soldier’s Medal.

It takes a lot of work to submit it and we were so blown away.

When it came time for his ceremony, he was so not excited for the attention he would receive.

The award ceremony was super fancy.

The motorcyclist Bryan wasn’t able to make it, but he sent his close friend instead.

His friend stood up and gave an amazing speech.

He said “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been flying back to visit my friend who was in the hospital. I would’ve been flying home to bury my friend. One of my very best friends. My brother.”

I started crying.

I don’t think I truly realized all he had done until that very moment.

I am so proud to call him my husband.

He is an amazing man.
